FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is HVAC?
HVAC stands for Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning. HVAC is most often used to depict a complete heating and cooling system comprising of the duct work, air filters, humidification controls, and registers.
When Should I call Cool Solution Services?
Electricity Bill Unusually High
One of the first signs that a unit may be running inefficiently is an electricity bill that is unusually high. Monitor your bill from month to month to watch for spikes during months when everything should be the same.
Continuous Running Unit
Unit Runs Continuously: If you see the unit is constantly running or running longer than usual, you should have the unit looked at immediately. Attending to this issue quickly will mean a lower repair bill, and you will prevent the high utility bills if the unit is allowed to run.
Air Flow is Low
If you notice a reduction in the airflow from your vents the first thing to try is replacing the filter. Dirty filters can restrict air flow. If you have changed the filter and the air flow is still lower than the unit is most likely in need of repair.
Why is my AC freezing up?
There are several possibilities that can cause your HVAC system to freeze up; almost all of them usually need to be corrected by a professional technician including Low Refrigerant, Dirty Evaporator, or Defective Motor or Relay.
If your system was freezing due to a dirty air filter, after replacing or cleaning the filter, you can expedite the thawing process by turning the system off and then turning on only the fan. If the system refreezes, call Cool Solution Services to solve the problem.
Why is it important to have regular maintenance on my AC UNIT
Your AC is a mechanical device with a motor, electrical components... and even fuel. So it is critical to have routine maintenance of your home comfort system by a qualified technician. If not properly and routinely maintained, even the best heating and air conditioning equipment could experience complications and become less 'fuel' efficient over time.
